Spring Awakenings

Spring has sprung, and as the weather becomes warm and sunny and the days grow longer, I’ve become aware that I sometimes bite off more than I can chew. My energy increases and I seem to say "yes" far too excessively, and sometimes push myself beyond the limits. Out of the house most nights of the week, and running through my days — with an overflowing calendar (even though many of the activities are fun!), if I am not careful, I’m likely to wind up exhausted, cranky, and burnt out. (And usually snapping at those who are closest to me…sorry, boys!) Nope, too many commitments is just not beneficial. This is when I remind myself of the amazing benefits of a restorative yoga practice. Synchronistically, I came across this article the other day -on Pinterest-  just when I needed it - highlighting a small and simple sequence of yoga poses I yearn for. As I consciously created the time for this in my day, presto! Instant shift. I've long been a fan of restorative yoga and its undeniable benefits for the nervous system; it is a great practice to remove tension from the body. Sometimes, just when it feels like we can take on the world, we need to remember to slow down, pay attention...and take the time instead to relax, renew, and restore so that we can more completely experience a balanced energy and joy. Check out the simple do-at-home sequence here!    https://www.pinterest.com/pin/161074124149756775/
